Dennis A. Walker passed away September 12, 2020 at Diversicare of Council Grove.
He was born March 14, 1939 in Fowler, Kansas, the son of Eldon and Lola (Flinn) Walker. He attended Dodge City Community College on a basketball scholarship, and graduated from Emporia State. He was a teacher and principal in Emporia before starting Walker Construction Company.
Dennis married the love of his life, Lilly Rochat, on June 22, 1984. They relocated to Medicine Lodge. Together, they built an EZ Mart Convenience Store and operated it for 27 years, before retiring in 2014. They moved to Council Grove in 2016.
Dennis loved horses and his best times were spent with Lilly horseback riding. He also enjoyed sports of all kinds. He was a Chief, Jayhawk, Royal, Nascar and rodeo fan. Dennis enjoyed people and will sadly be missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife Lilly; sons Van, Todd and Kris Walker; daughter Wendy Ternes and step-daughter Heather Ludwick; brothers Ron and Richard Walker; sister Norma Klein; 9 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Lola and Eldon.
