Bob was a friendly man with an amazing memory. He could quote statistics for his favorite baseball team (Dodgers) and basketball teams. He sat behind the Emporia State women's basketball team at most of their games. He personally knew the coach and players. He also knew all their statistics and had some ideas for the coach.
Bob and Larry were very close when they were young. They sold White Cloverine brand Salve and Bob earned enough points for a baseball glove that he was very proud of. They played baseball together on many days. In New Mexico they found terrapins and raced them.
