Robert Eugene Gordon

July 2, 1946 — September 15, 2021

Robert Gordon, 75, of Alta Vista, Kansas, passed away September 15, 2021. He was born to Lloyd Oren and Ida Elizabeth Howe Gordon, on July 2, 1946, in Westmoreland, Kansas. After graduating from Westmoreland High School in 1965, Bob joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Vietnam War until 1968. In June 1968, Bob married Pamela Rae Hewitt. Their daughter, Angela, was born in June 1974.

After returning from the Navy, Bob worked for Goodyear in Topeka building earthmover tires. Bob left Goodyear to pursue a career in Direct Sales, where he sold everything from cookware to insurance and everything in between. He then worked at Fort Riley for a construction contractor, built a few homes and enjoyed laying rock. He helped build the Vietnam rock memorial in Westmoreland, KS with his good friends, Dennis and Frank Siegle. Bob started doing title work for mortgage companies in 1999, until 2006 when he began purchasing oil and gas leases. In 2007, he become a Landman, and had the opportunity to work with Pam. Together, they were blessed to meet amazing Landowners in Illinois, Kansas, Indiana, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Montana, Colorado, Texas, Michigan, South Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio & Wyoming. Lifetime friends were made from all over this great USA. Bob retired in June of 2020.

Bob loved people and never met a stranger. He made people feel special, gave compliments often and rarely forgot a name. He loved to visit and preferred a full meal deal over a popcorn visit. Bob was beyond generous and was always available if someone needed help.

Bob loved his God, his country and nothing made him happier than being with his family! Pam, Angela, Lucas, Alec, Tyler, Miah, Freddy, Kade, Tyce, Noah, Micah and Titus were his everything! Having the opportunity to watch his grandchildren compete in their variety of sports is what he lived for. He was so proud of each of them. His bonus was also spending time with his great grands. He would be the first to tell you that he was a truly blessed man!

Bob is survived by his wife, Pamela Hewitt Gordon of Alta Vista; his daughter, Angela Melvin and husband Lucas of Norton, KS, and their children; Alec Anderson & husband Tyler; their children Micah & Titus of Alta Vista, KS; Miah Haines and husband Freddy of Hays, KS; Kade Melvin of Hays, KS; Tyce Melvin and Noah Melvin of Norton, KS.
