Omer Glen Pitts

Omer Glen Pitts, 81, of Council Grove, Kansas, passed away December 8th at his home following a brief illness.

He was born January 27, 1944, in Council Grove, the son of Omer and Emily Pitts, and was raised there. Glen lived in Colorado for many years before moving to South Carolina, where he married Clara Kieffer on November 2, 1996. After they retired, they moved back to Council Grove.

Glen and Clara enjoyed life together; anytime they weren’t working, they were camping, traveling, and visiting with family. Glen especially loved spending time with his family and with his dear friend, Pete Unruh, at Pete’s farm.

He is preceded in death by his parents. Glen is survived by his wife, Clara; daughters Glenda Brown of Colorado, Pam Harper (James) of Arizona, and Monica Kneppel of Council Grove; grandchildren Mitchell Brown (Sammi), Dillon Brown (Katie), Sheila, and Allen; great-grandchild Jaax Brown; sister Rosalie Cornelius of Solomon; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, December 14th, from 2:00–3:30 p.m. at Sawyer Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 15th, also at the funeral home.
