Nancy Marie Rowley, 69 years of age, was born October 9, 1952 in Manhattan, Kansas. On May 27, 2022, at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas, she went to her heavenly home. Her family was at her side.
The daughter of Louise and Woodrow Kobiskie, she grew up on the farm north of McFarland, Kansas. She loved to dress up and play with her kitties. She was baptized and confirmed at Peace United Church of Christ in Alma, Kansas. She attended McFarland Grade School in McFarland and attended and graduated from Alma High School in Alma with the class of 1970. After high school, she lived and worked in Topeka. Later, she married Gary Edwin Rowley, August 18, 1973 at Peace United Church of Christ in Alma. They lived and farmed in the Chalk area west of Eskridge, Kansas, raising their four children there.
Nancy was creative and artistic working with ceramics and numerous craft and sewing projects in her free time. She enjoyed collecting miniature tea sets, unique dolls, crosses and angels, and anything to do with cats. She recently became “grandmom” to fur babies Chloe and Rosie and enjoyed spending time with them. She also loved to garden. In addition to working hard on the farm, she worked many years as a CNA at the Eskridge Care Facility, caring for residents with love and compassion. She was very supportive of her family as she attended as many of her children’s and grandchildren’s activities as she could.
In 2019, she and Gary sold the farm and moved to Council Grove, Kansas. She continued, along with Gary, to mow cemeteries in the Chalk area. They also worked at White Memorial Camp near Council Grove for the past 5 years. She and Gary enjoyed traveling on bus tours to different states.
