Mary Belle Reynoso
February 16, 1938 – August 15, 2024
Mary Belle Van Note was born in Bucyrus, Missouri, but ended up in Council Grove where she met and married Tony Reynoso, from Dwight, on February 4, 1956. Being an Air Force wife, she always found ways to meet the needs of her family, but her passion was working with the elderly as a CNA in nursing homes and as a home health provider. Her kind heart allowed her to connect with patients and families, and it is almost certain that each one was gifted an item Mary made with her own hands.
Mary loved baking, plants, and crocheting. If there was an occasion to bake cookies, she was there. If anyone could nurture a plant from seed to bloom, she could. And, if someone needed a beanie, a scarf, a baby blanket, or an afghan, she would spend countless happy hours making them and donating them to friends, family and strangers. Many of you probably have a crocheted item in your home that she made!
Mary was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother for her family. She is survived by her six children: Debbie Longoria (Art), Bryan Reynoso (Ruth), Brad Reynoso (Cathy), Bret Reynoso (Jamie), Bart Reynoso (Robyn), and Daneen Kuntzman (Dennis). She was “Granny” to thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and many other children whose paths graced her life. She is survived by a sister Marge Vanderbur (Phoenix, AZ) and many extended relatives who will miss her presence.
Know that Mary lives on in our lives with the memories we have of her. She is also back with Tony and the others who have passed before her, truly living in everlasting happiness.
The family will greet family and friends at the visitation from 1:00 – 4:00pm, Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Community Christian Church, 18 McCardell Street, Council Grove, KS.
