It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Mark David Moore. Husband, father, grandfather and friend, Mark is remembered for his kind heart, giving nature, his love for the outdoors, and his devotion to loved ones.
Mark was born on December 21, 1958 in Fairbury, Nebraska to Ronald D. Moore and Janet M. Hosler (née Sjogren). He spent his youth in Junction City, Emporia, Marquette, and two years in Guam while his parents performed missionary work in the community. He graduated from Marquette High School, class of 1977. Mark graduated from Brown Mackie College - Salina in 1979 in the autotech program.
Mark excelled in sports. In school he received multiple awards in track, basketball and football. His interests included cars, boats, crafts, and collecting a wide variety of music.
He married Susan K. Barnes on May 2, 1981 in Hanover Lutheran Church in Hanover, Kansas. Mark and Susan were married 44 years before her passing on June 21, 2025.
Mark held various careers throughout his life, his longest being as a QC Technician at Frito Lay. He closed out 26 years with the company before retiring in early 2025.
Mark is survived by his children, Derrick (Emery) Moore and Jensen (Kevin) Simons, as well as his mother, Janet, his brother, Eric (Tanya) Moore, and his granddaughter, Luna Simons.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ron, his step-father, James D. Hosler, and his wife, Susan.
