Elvin Lee Garrett

Elvin Lee Garrett, 68, passed away December 27, 2024, at Morris County Hospital, with his family by his side. He was born August 5, 1956, in Council Grove, Kansas, to Fred and Mary (Carlson) Garrett. 

Lee was a huge KU fan. As a kid he played little league baseball in San Luis Obispo, California. His team was crowned YBL Champions in July 1968. 

Lee had many friends in his life that he cared for and loved deeply. He will truly be missed by so many. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Mary Garrett and sister Debbie Garrett Coe. 

Lee is survived by his daughter Melissa (Garrett) Schultz and husband Daniel, of Centennial, CO; son Michael Garrett, of El Dorado; grandchildren: Bailee, of Centennial, Co, Zachary (Rachel), of Jacksonville, FL, Jayden, of Centennial, Co; great grandson Jace, of Jacksonville, FL; niece Tracy Coe and nephew Trenton Coe and their families. 

A memorial service will be held at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Melissa Shultz, which will go towards Lee’s services. They may be sent to the care of Sawyer Funeral Home, PO Box 273, Council Grove, KS 66846.
