Betty Louise Helton

Betty Louise Helton, lifetime resident of Council Grove, KS, passed away October 19, 2024, at Diversicare of Council Grove. 

She was born December 8, 1948, to Charlie and Lucille Tapprich Davis. She worked as a CNA/CMA at Council Grove Nursing Homes and Cedars Nursing Homes of McPherson for years, before retiring due to medical reasons. 

Betty loved her family and spending time with them. She also enjoyed traveling with her sisters. 

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband Andy Helton; grandchildren, Michael Christopher Carpenter and John Steven True; and her siblings, Art Davis, Arlene White, Mayetta Warneke, Jim Davis, Naomi Mitchell, Charlie Davis, Jr and Brenda Kay Davis. 

She is survived by her children: Loretta True (John), Becky Erdmann (Chad), of Council Grove, Robert Choate (Sherry), of Gulf Shores, Angelia Carpenter, of McPherson; siblings: Terry Davis (Karen) of Council Grove, Duane Davis (Shirley) of Peabody, Laverne Hawkins of Emporia, Wanda LeMay (Jerry) and Becky Chase (Brian) of Council Grove; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends. Betty will be sadly missed by all that loved and knew her. 

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 – 6:30, Thursday, October 24th, at Sawyer Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Friday, October 25th, at Flint Hills Apostolic Church. Burial will follow at Sunny Slope Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Together With Veterans AND Morris County.
